If you know me, you know that I love makeup trade shows, so it should be no surprise that once again, I worked with my friends at Frends beauty’s booth at PHAMExpo last weekend, and want to share with you what I got with my gratis (plus a little extra)! So, here’s my modest PHAMExpo 2018 Haul!
I’ve mentioned in previous posts about tradeshows past that I generally either spend a lot, or almost nothing at shows. I recently bought a Zuca Pro Backpack from Frends between shows, and the only thing I really need to add to my kit is a battery-operated airbrush for on-location outdoor shoots, so I didn’t spend a lot this time! In fact, while it may seem like a bit more based upon what I took home in my PhamExpo 2018 Haul, I actually only spent under $40!
Here’s everything!
Top left is a brightening sheet mask from a Korean skincare mask subscription box company, KO Skin. Top center is an Ely Maya brush cleaner to replace my old one. I previously bought the lavender scent, but this time went with champagne rose! Top right is a charcoal mask from Moira, a company I had never heard of, that is also Korean skincare. I am guessing it is comparable to Boscia’s black mask, but we shall see! I’m hoping so, because it was two for $25, and a lot larger tube! Center left is an exfoliating peel from the same company, to round out my 2/$25 deal. In the middle was the main event, the Lorac unzipped gold palette, with two brushes on top from Stilazzi - an eyeshadow brush for personal use, and a new spoolie for my kit, since mine is in rough shape! Finally, some really pretty glitter from Stila, and some clear brow gel for my kit, because I need it! Shall we look a little closer at some of the items?
The Lorac palette comes with an eyeshadow primer. I am excited to try it and compare it to my favorite, which is the Too Faced Shadow Insurance!
I think these colors are gorgeous and will look lovely with my blue eyes. Got this one for personal use as opposed to my kit, even though I usually am not a big advocate for palettes. I think I will actually use all these colors, as opposed to most palettes where I hit pan on some colors and never touch others (which is why I usually suggest single shadows)! The “unpredictable” color in the top row, center, reminds me of a MAC pigment that I went crazy over and used almost every day for a while like ten years ago. I wonder if they still make it!
The Ely Maya brush cleaner is great for deep cleaning brushes! I have to do that today, actually, since I haven’t for the three clients I had last week, and get to do Malynda‘s makeup for a red carpet event this Tuesday… At FIVE AM! She’s lucky I love her. I see a nap in my future - haha! Check out my most recent work with her - it’s stunning!
The Stila Glitter & Glow liquid eye shadow in Kitten Karma is something I had been eyeing for a while, and am excited to try. I was in charge of lashes in the booth, which are next to these, so I of course stared at them for two days, and have seen them at past shows, too. That whole “having things in my face” thing always gets to me - I end up buying the stuff I am closest to in the booth most of the time, just because I see it all show. That’s how the Moira stuff caught my eye, too - their booth was right across from me!
Well, that concludes my PHAMExpo 2018 Haul! What are you most excited to see a review on?
xoxo,
Mandie
