As a makeup artist who is also passionate about sustainability and avoiding toxins, I was thrilled to find out that thanks to Influenster (see other reviews here, and click here to join Influenster!), I’d be sent products to write a Jane Iredale Fortify & Finish Review! I was sent the BeautyPrep Face Cleanser, BeautyPrep Face Toner, BeautyPrep Face Moisturizer, Pommisst Hydration Spray, as well as a powder foundation compact and kabuki brush complimentary in exchange for my honest opinion by Influenster, so here’s my Jane Iredale Fortify & Finish Review!
The first thing I tried was the BeautyPrep Face Cleanser*. I really wanted to love it, especially because I used most of my larger sized samples of skincare on my honeymoon, and thought that this would be a lovely way to replace those products for when I’m on the go. I don’t dislike it, but because there was no sudsing or foam, it felt like I was just rinsing my face with water. The smell was nice, though!
After the cleanser, was the BeautyPrep Face Toner. I love toners and micellar waters because since my Clarisonic brush broke, I have been washing my face with my hands only. Using a toner or micellar water on a cotton ball or pad, because I see the remnants of makeup or the dirt and oil wiped off my skin on the pad, which I find satisfying. The toner again smelled good, but I didn’t feel a big difference on my skin.
Next, of course, was the BeautyPrep Face Moisturizer. I loved that this came as a cream in a pot as opposed to a lotion or something lighter, as I am a sucker for rich moisturizers, for hair and face! Like the other products, I enjoyed the smell, but didn’t feel any difference in my skin after one use.
I was also sent a pressed powder foundation and kabuki brush. The foundation color was estimated before my five-week honeymoon vacation to Europe, (and arrived while I was gone and was waiting for me when I got back), so despite using sunscreen regularly, I am much too dark to wear it currently, but I did try it out to see how well it covered and how it felt. The brush is reasonably nice, but I am not sure that I would buy one. It is a vegan product, and I don’t think the quality matches my favorite budget brushes, Bdellium*.
The compact was pretty, but felt a little flimsy and cheap. The makeup itself, however, was quite nice - smooth and well-pigmented, decent coverage, and the makeup feels like high quality. I look forward to trying it more when the color will match!
Another product I was sent to include in this Jane Iredale Fortify & Finish Review was the Pommisst Hydration Spray. I love these different facial moisture sprays (even simply spraying Evian on my face to refresh it), like my favorite - this Caudalie spray, but since I rarely carry a purse or handbag with me, I don’t generally have them with me when I need them most! So while this was likely my favorite product in the Jane Iredale Fortify & Finish Review, until I start carrying one with me consistently, I am unlikely to use it very consistently, unfortunately!
Overall, I am pretty neutral about these products, but hopeful - I believe I will stick to my current skincare routine (I seriously feel a difference in my skin after one usage!), but bring these along with me on my travels. I will take advantage of future opportunities to test Jane Iredale products, with the hopes that others are more impressive, since I believe in their/her mission! Above all, I am excited that Influenster sent something that I didn’t have to already have something against it based upon toxic ingredients!
