This week’s guest, for Bold Moves Podcast Episode 51: Cassandra Burke, has done some serious bold moves. Instead of letting cancer kick her butt and keep her down, she celebrated beating breast cancer by doing a triathlon, and then became addicted to them, now doing them with her husband and daughter as a family. She describes herself as “powered by bling!” I think you will really find her story touching and inspiring, and I have been so excited to share it with you! I really hope you enjoy Bold Moves Podcast Episode 51: Cassandra Burke!

If you’d like to see more of Cassandra to be inspired by her blog, and track her races, here are her links!
Her blog is here, her travel website is here. Just like having two websites, she has two Instagram pages as well - The Powered By Bling Insta, and the PBBTravel Instagram! Of course, there’s a Powered By Bling Facebook page, which you can see here. Are you a fan of twitter? If so, check out her tweets here! And finally, if Pinterest is your thing, you can be inspired by Cassandra’s Powered By Bling Pins here!
Here’s that episode of Forensic Files that Cassandra was on!
As I had mentioned, my mammogram was NOT a big deal. I wrote a blog about it, which you should check out here!
Her book recommendations* were Run Fast Eat Slow, by Shalane Flanagan, and she says she loves all of Michael Pollan’s books. I think Michael Pollan is brilliant, so here’s a little bibliography for him!
Food Rules: An Eater’s Manual
In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto
Cooked: A Natural History of Transformation
The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals
The Botany Of Desire: A Plant’s Eye View Of the World
Second Nature: A Gardener’s Education
A Place of My Own: The Architecture of Daydreams
There’s also a boxed set that contains the first three books from the list above!
One thing I have discovered from this exercise is that Mr. Pollan sure loves his colons (in his titles… but also probably in his body, since he takes such great care about what he puts in it)!
She says to unplug, she also enjoys things like Confessions of a Shopaholic!

It means if you decide to order the book on Amazon by clicking that link, it will cost you the same price, but a small percentage will help me with the costs of my blog, and now my podcast, too – I.E., you spending money can help me MAKE money! I had no idea that there were so many costs associated with podcasts until I decided to start one! Plus, I have many new projects coming that I think you will love that could use some support!

Thanks for the opportunity to share my story. If my journey saves one person by inspiring them to get their annual mammogram, that is one more piece of my purpose.
